This Week in Asia Episode 36: Daniel Raffel from Yahoo
Daniel Raffel, the senior product manager in Yahoo has an interesting background. In another point of his life, he worked as a four star chef in Thomas Keller’s NYC restaurant. Our TWIA crew, Cerventus and Chew Lin interviewed him and asked him how he has taken lessons as a professional cook and applied them to product management in Yahoo. We also asked him what he’s currently working on, and his expectations for the coming Echelon 2010 which is happening on 1st and 2nd June 2010.
About Daniel Raffel and Yahoo:Daniel Raffel is a Senior Product Manager at Yahoo, working on Y !OS. As a Product Manager at Yahoo, he helped create and launch Pipes , a web based composition tool to aggregate, manipulate and mashup content from around the web. Also during his tenure at Yahoo, Daniel contributed to launching Yahoo Messenger’s VoIP efforts. Previously, he was the Director of Product Management at Pioneers of the Inevitable, working on Songbird , an open-source, customizable music player. Daniel has also worked in a variety of technology roles at ABC News Online, bthere.tv, CondeNet, and NYU’s Innovation Center lab.
